ACCEC is a Ugandan non-profit working for climate action and environmental conservation. We embrace environmentally friendly activities and approaches — tree planting, clean water and sanitation, renewable energy, regenerative agriculture and environmental education — and we put young people and women at the forefront of that work.

Climate change touches everything
Climate Change & HIV/AIDS
The health challenges arising from climate change and the HIV/AIDS epidemic are unprecedented in human history. A ground-breaking 2020 study warns our planet could see a greater rise in temperatures over the next 50 years than in the last 6,000 — a consequence of human activity.
Gender & Climate Change
Strengthening climate action by promoting gender equality. Across societies the impacts of climate change affect women and men differently — women are often responsible for gathering food, collecting water and sourcing fuel for heating and cooking.
Climate Change & GBV
The IPCC’s report on Global Warming of 1.5°C predicted an increase in natural disasters and the devastation that follows in communities worldwide. Gender-based violence risks becoming an even bigger problem if it is not properly tackled.
