The programme
What we do
In Uganda, many rural schools and homes still rely on harmful fuels like firewood and kerosene. ACCEC’s renewable energy programme provides clean, affordable energy that protects forests, improves health and expands opportunities for education and development.
Core components
- Biogas systems — converting organic waste into clean cooking gas, cutting deforestation, smoke and fuel costs
- Energy-efficient cookstoves — locally made, fuel-saving stoves for school kitchens and homes
- Biomass briquettes — training youth and women’s groups to turn agricultural waste into clean fuel and jobs
- Solar energy — from solar lamps to full solar classroom and home systems for off-grid communities
